The success of his 2008 Juno nominated album has made the rest of Canada stand up and take a listen to this talented local blues man and his kickin band.

Having toured with Matthew Good all across Canada and producing their new Album "Let it Flow" with Musician/Songwriter Gord Sinclair of the Tragically Hip, have made The Spades this year's up and coming must see Band.
9:30 pm Matthew Good and his Band
For more than a decade, British Columbia, vocalist/ guitarist Matthew Good Has produced exceptional music that has grown and diversified as he has himself. His most recent release-his 3rd solo recording-Hospital, took the #1 spots for Alternative Album and Digital Album and just received a Juno Award nomination for Rock Record of the Year. After two critically acclaimed and massively successful solo acoustic tours, Matthew Good comes back for the first time in three years with a Brand New Band to tour Canada this Spring.

MISSISSAUGA FUTURE STAR Contest Finals
Be part of the excitement as celebrity judges decide between enthusiastic semi-finalists just who will be this year’s “Mississauga Future Star” and receive the grand prize of $2,000 cash, recording time at MetalWorks studio with a professional engineer and their own professional website. Winner announced at 1:30pm.

8:00 pm Opening Act Crash Parallel
Drawing comparisons to artists such as Coldplay, The  Fray, David Gray and Counting Crows, Crash Parallel’s debut album is a combination of strong melodies and intimate lyrics. The Toronto-based quartet was formed three years ago by singer/ songwriter Tim Edwards and songwriter/guitarist Dan Saitua, later joined by Gary Rugala (bass) and John Vitellaro (drums). Their debut album World We Know is set to release May 2008!
9:30 pm COLIN JAMES
As one of Canada's Best Guitarists, Colin has sold over one million records worldwide, traveled the globe and garnered international recognition for his versatility as a guitarist and for his unforgettable voice. His diverse catalogue of music includes blues and rock. He is a six time Juno award winner and a recipient of three Maple Blues Awards including Best entertainer, Electric Act and Recording of the Year.

The newly crowned winner will perform for our festival audience.
2:00 pm Marta
On tour from Australia, Marta's sound is reminiscent of the 60's San Francisco scene. Her music is narrative and thought provoking from hauntingly reflective to highly infectious folk/pop songs.
3:00 pm Suzie McNeil
Suzie McNeil, a native of Toronto Canada, was the last women standing on CBS television reality series Rockstar: INXS at the end of summer 2005. She is featured singing duets on INXS 2005 and Clay Aiken's Fall release. She performed back up vocals for Pink, entertained troops in Afghanistan, starred in Toronto's Debut Queen's "We Will Rock You" musical and toured with David Usher. Suzie Released her Debut Album Broken and Beautiful in April 2007, was awarded The Canadian Independent Music award's Favourite Pop Artist of the Year and is performing the 2010 Olympics song and video Believe.

We are excited to have Suzie perform at the Mississauga Waterfront Festival for the very first time!
4:00 pm. Rik Emmett
Rik Emmett was relatively unknown singer/ songwriter/ guitarist scene in '75 when he joined a newly- formed group Triumph. Emmett won several prestigious awards, including Best Lead Guitarist nationally in 1981. Rik left the band in '88 to fly solo, but as one of the original members, he was inducted in to the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in '93. In 2005, Rik was honoured as Jazz Guitarist of the Year at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. Rik's Latest CD Strung Out Troubadours with Dave Dunlop has just won two Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards for Album of the Year and Group/ Duo of the Year- 2007. Now after 20 years Rik has reunited with Triumph musicians Gil Moore and Mike Lavine..  

The Mississauga Waterfront Festival is thrilled to have Rik Emmett and his other rock band perform for us at this year's festival.
